MATT DUBBER
Matt Dubber lives in the Eastern Cape of South Africa – one of the hunting hotspots of the world. Matt has had a passion for precision shooting from a young age, and in 2011 started a YouTube channel called AirArmsHuntingSA, with the goal of educating and entertaining young people with the same passion, specifically on the topic of ballistics and long-range shooting. He has since been involved in many projects outside of online media, including experience in the optics industry, where he worked on reticle designs for a number of companies. More notably, Matt has done extensive research and design work with PCP Airgun giant FX Airguns on new barrel technology for high BC projectiles.
Matt enjoys hunting in his native South Africa with both firearms and airguns, and competes regularly around the world across various disciplines including Benchrest, NRL & Speed Shooting. Matt’s channel now ranks as one of the top hunting channels in the world, and has backed up his YouTube success with podium finishes at big international competitions:
- Back-to-back NRL / Precision Rifle champion, Rocky Mountain Airgun Challenge (2018,2019)
- 3x Speed Shoot Open Class Champion (EBR 2018, RMAC 2019, Pyramyd Cup 2019)
- 2nd place, Extreme Benchrest 100yd (2017)
- 3rd place, RMAC 100yd Benchrest (2019)
Matt was one of the founding members of Element Optics, and has played a large role in product design, specifically the turrets on all models, external design features, quality control implementation and the design of the MRAD reticles.
